Traditional questions to our wonderful graduate.
Where do you work now?
I am the main developer of Business Intelligence Systems in PJSC Gazprom Neft. The task is to make the "dirty", information (operational level) become an information for decision-making at the tactical and strategic levels. This allows to the middle and top management to find as many insights as possible in the business development on a regular basis. Also, I take part in projects to optimize the supply chain of our company.
What milestones in life do you set for yourself, what do you strive for?
I always try to discover new horizons in all spheres of activity. Daily challenges force me to develop as an expert and a researcher in the field of information technology and data analysis.
From my hobbies - playing the guitar and sports (swimming).
Why are you attracted by logistics and supply chain management, what was useful in two years of our communication?
Today, there are many optimization tasks in logistics. Number of them is increasing in connection with the development of information technologies and computing capacities. This attracts me in logistics and SCM the most.
During my master’s studies, thanks to the faculty, I have acquired the knowledge in the field of analytics and designing of supply chains on the basis of various tools.
What is your advice to future masters?
Our university gave me one of the most remarkable, in my opinion, qualities. This quality lies in the approach to each problem from the position of the researcher. Facing with a difficult task (long-term project or a separate stage of it), there is a feeling sometimes that we are powerless and have come to a standstill. In fact, this means that we either do not have the necessary knowledge to solve this problem, or we have chosen the wrong tool. Therefore, we either look for the right tool, or learn new things or, more often, both. I think this approach will allow you to succeed in life.
